Compagnie Irene K. is a contemporary dance company founded in 1978 in Eupen (Belgium) by its art director Irene Kalbusch.
Choreographies don’t want to be narrative. The spaces open in all directions, always creating new constellations. The human being - his desires, his fears, his visions - underlies this work.
From the very beginning, Irène Kalbusch has been working with professional dancers of many different nationalities. The Company has adopted an own style that can be attributed to contemporary dance theatre close to the “Tanztheater”.
More than performances on stage - including for children, the Company offers performances in urban/ alternative landscapes and interesting architectures.
Compagnie Irene K. regularly develops educational, creative and interdisciplinary projects.
